Review
A gutsy and profound book. Those who crave the truth will inhale The Flipside of Feminism, while those beholden to feminism will resist it. For both, Flipside is a must-read. Schlafly and Venker show how insidious the feminist movement is --Ann CoulterThe Flipside of Feminism exposes the lies at the core of the feminist agenda: there is no difference between men and women, the hook-up culture is liberating, women are oppressed victims in the home and office, and children are fine when left all day in daycare. Those who consider themselves 'socially liberal but fiscally conservative' will re-examine their attitudes after reading this book." --Mark LevinPhyllis Schlafly and Suzanne Venker have written a courageous and illuminating book on the oppression of women by the feminist left. Everyone of sound mind should read and learn from this book." --David Horowitz

I wanted to love this book. As a woman who can't stand what the new feminist movement is about, and a Republican, I was excited for this book. It was a total let down. The author pushes politics too much, to the point it gets old real quick. I was shocked that she essentially blames women for their husbands affairs stating that perhaps they're not good wives and if they were housewives and not career women their husbands wouldn't go astray. While liberal feminists have taken things to one extreme, the author(s) have gone to the far extreme themselves. I'm not a fan of either side.
Absolutely spot on regarding the failure of feminism to provide women - and men - and children - what we all need. Without getting bogged down as a research tomb, quotes and data are used as the foundation for clear analysis of history, agenda and results of feminism. Clear evidence that the authors are NOT feminists is the subtle wit and humor used as authors cut through all the rancor created by angry, screeching Fems. Thanks Suzanne and Phyllis! You intelligently and clearly challenge common arguments promoted by liberals, media and academia. For those who follow this issue, this book is a great source for building a bibliography for further reading. At the very least, it should be required reading for all university Women's Studies (Feminist) programs. Come on Feminists...what are you afraid of? Afraid their arguments might be compelling and confirmed by young students who know something is not quite right, but to this point, have not been able to put their fingers on the cause?
This book provides an excellent analysis of the evolution of feminism, and its agenda that aims at destroying family values, denigrate maternity and overall gender roles. There are great parts and lots of factual bits. However, there are many places where the author just states opinions based on her values and beliefs, that may simply not appeal to everyone. I just wish that she would be more transparent / aware of which parts of what she writes is a matter of opinion / beliefs vs what part is purely factual. Without that, a lot of her analysis looses in credibility as it seems to be partisan.
This is a great book and an eye opener. This brings out in the open lot of issues which are normally ignored by main stream media. A must read book.
Although I don't agree with all her ideas, I still appreciate the way she stand up for traditional norms. She is an excellent woman!
Any book written by Phillis Schafely is extremely well written, accurate, and informative. God rest her soul.
I don’t normally read political books, but I really enjoyed this one. It’s an in depth expose on the myriad of ways feminism has wrecked American culture and family. I didn’t agree with everything, but there really is some great food for thought here.
I cannot express how much I enjoyed reading this book. It provides a clear description of why what is called feminism today has little to do with making women's' lives better and much to do with breaking down our culture so that an elite few can hold sway over the majority.
